When I was a young lad I had serve asthma, raised in damp houses and crappy schools (NZ). When I left mum and moved to live with my father (USA) my bags unfortunately carried on to the other side of the world. So I arrived to dad with no luggage other than my carry on. Unfortunately my asthma inhalers and medication were in my bags that were now somewhere on route to London. I then proceeded to have a severe attack. The hairy, horsey throat and restricted breathing lasted for about six to eight hours. My dad got quite concerned, but I seemed to be improving slowly later in the evening. The next day I woke up completely cleared, and with no signs of asthma. I've never had an attack since. My theory is that by subjecting myself to a new environment, or in this case, micro-organisms on the atmosphere, my respiratory system and immune was able to peice together a solution to keep the reaction at bay for good. Some would say it's coincidence and I merely grew out of it, but I think it was the new environment. My 2 sats.
