And they (the people of Jannah) will turn to each other, inquiring each other. They'll say, "Verily, we used to be in the midst of our people, terrified. Then Allah graced us and saved us from the Scorching punishment. Indeed, we used to be calling out to Him. Verily is He the Most Kind, the Most Compassionate!" [Surah Tur 25-28] Holding onto the rope of Allah was never going to be an easy task. The Prophet ﷺ himself said that it would become like holding onto a hot coal. But ease was never the point. Standing up for truth in a world when ignorance and falsehood has swept many off their feet, and promises infinitely more instant gratification, was always a daunting endeavour. The ignorant will work against you, and life itself may take scary turns, but so long as you hold firm to that rope, be certain that Allah will lift you out of the darkness and into the light.
