No way bro, the language looks like ass and I don't want to spend time learning it. Zig was also kind of ass. C is ergonomic af. All it needed was a simple object system as an extension.

There were indigenous people, they had an organized community. That's enough for me to consider it something. That is not to say the whole landmass was occupied - no, that would be a lie as well. But just because a particular form of government wasn't being practiced (which is another can of worms we can get into) doesn't mean organized communities didn't exist. I could argue that the US has a state (a government) but does it have nation? It has many, different communal groups and I don't think they are all united.
