Always trying to learn — and I do love Monero, but why not coinjoin using wasabi wallet? It’s easy to detect but it does have reasonable privacy.
Excited to be moving to UAE 🇦🇪 on 8/1. It has been over 7 years living in China 🇨🇳 and the perspective it has given me on the world and Bitcoin has been invaluable. Looking forward to the rest of my journey. If you know anyone in the region I should meet (read: I am gainfully unemployed), please introduce me! I will be starting Bitcoin learning events when I land with the OffChain.social group I co-founded.
A simple consumption tax on all fuel seems far more practical to implement and impactful to reducing carbon emissions… but I’m no expert.
“Wait, should I have reported this conversation chain…” My son asked me a normal questions regarding TNT vs gunpowder (as he uses both in Minecraft). DeepSeek is wondering whether to narc on me to the PSB. Ah, the joys of modern parenting in mainland China.
Yes, they debit from a small amount of bitcoin I keep on the exchange. The taxes get reported in a report that is easy enough to import into TurboTax based on FIFO, but personally I use cointracking.info to be able to do specific lot tax reporting across all holdings and exchanges.
Had something like this from a market at Pikes Place in Seattle… it had made me question the legitimacy of every strawberry since then. I’m ruined.
Does using Bitcoin debit or credit cards count? My Coinbase debit card has made living on a Bitcoin standard extremely easy in most places that already accept a Visa card. It’s the same cost the merchant but I’m saving and get rewards in Bitcoin. I’ve avoided the credit card because I don’t want to pay any yearly fee (yet…)
With the HSBC Labs team in Guangzhou. I’m proud they all learned a little bit about digital assets during my past seven years in China, and put up with my views on Bitcoin, privacy and identity. I’ll be packing my bags and heading to Abu Dhabi on August 1. I am open to a new job, but I’m in no rush. There are two types of bankers: those that know they are competing in the cryptocurrency industry, and those that are about to find out. Looking forward to the next adventure.
I’m fiscally conservative and socially liberal. I value diversity of people and ideas. I believe in America as a land that encourages immigration but does so legally. I think people who work hard are cool, and people who crave excess consumption are lame. I don’t hate China, or its people — but I think it’s great to compete fairly and disagree with any authoritarian government policy. What party am I? Because I voted third party last election and likely will keep throwing my vote away until some common sense is restored.
