Mennonites, I realized. Their conversation was a living artifact, a whisper from another era. Their serene demeanor and quiet satisfaction left an indelible impression on me. Bavaria on a Sunday, my thoughts drift back to this remarkable couple, guardians of a linguistic heritage almost lost to time.
