Thanks for this. I have been wanting a degoogled phone. I gutted bikel and put in a new gps implementation. Should be good to go in v1.5

I just put LineageOS on one of my old phones and am doing testing now. I see what you mean with the gps. Hopefully I'll have it working soon.

I replied earlier but it must be lost in relay space. Thank you for giving bikel a go. Let me know how the new update works.

The data set stays about the same size by trimming gps points out. So the longer the ride the less detailed the map route may be but it should have all the data needed regardless of distance.
