Nostr solves one major problem with social media: no single company owns the network or your identity. But decentralization alone does not answer every political question. Who defines acceptable public conduct? How should harassment or coordinated intimidation be handled? What due process should exist when relays or clients restrict someone? Who funds infrastructure that should not depend on surveillance advertising? I wrote an essay arguing that social media should be treated as public infrastructure: open protocols, competing providers, transparent governance, private encrypted communication, and no single corporate or state authority controlling the public square. https://blog.kushbisen.com/essays/social-media-public-infrastructure/ #nostr #decentralization #socialmedia
