Yeah! I think there is an opportunity here to build some unique features to solve this problem. NIP-05 goes a long way IMO, but not everyone has one, and impersonators could start buying domains and setting up their own NIP-05 identifiers. It would be costly for the scammer but a single domain could be used for an immeasurable number of impersonator accounts, ones that target multiple victims 🤷🏻‍♀️ Totally agree though that there are UX improvements that could go a long way, similar to how Twitter really pushes you to only look at notifications from verified accounts.

We cranked out SatsApp SO fast when I was at . It was such a fun product to build at a really exciting time when we were deep in scrappy startup mode. I got to see the full lifecycle of a new product and had the opportunity to work on greenfield development. Learned so much from helping build this fun app. RIP SatsApp. Thanks for the memories. Thanks for letting me know! Several people have brought this to my attention but unfortunately there’s not really anything I can do 🙁 Always pay attention to NIP-05 identifier/checkmark verification, and even then, don’t let your guard down. Good on you for recognizing it as an impersonator!
