I'm tired & going to bed early. I kinda feel bad that I don't even have a semi-interesting picture to share today, but I guess some days are just plain, even in my weird world. Nostr has been anything but plain today, though. Ham radio zaps, sharing some feedback, checking in on new friends and ones that i can say are "old friends" because we've been chatting for a couple years now. I am very grateful. Nostr may be a little quieter lately, but that's a good time to be a little more candid. It's also a good time to consider what's next. We get our houses in order before the guests arrive. I think that's part of maturing. 💜

🫂 Maybe you could put some of them somewhere accessible so people could contribute, too? Many hands make light work, and all that. Untype solved big problems for me, even with its quirks. I see a lot of others vocalizing the same issues about long-form clients. If you could open source it & get it cleaned up a little bit, I don't think it would take very long for it to become one of the more widely used writing tools.

Ah, that would be amazing! Its really minor stuff compared to most of the other writing clients: The text box sometimes holds what appears to be a blank copy of the previous publication so its really easy to overwrite your own work by accident. The eventIDs aren't easily searchable, I'm guessing because they don't have a prefix, but maybe it's a format thing(?). That's getting to the barriers of my understanding. The sign in button on the bottom of the screen is the only one that works. The predominant one is a decoy lol The cursor automatically moves your place to the bottom of the text box when you click some random spot in the text, like to fix a typo pre-publish, which is jarring & confusing. It has still become my go-to though

I'm sure he'd make it available if someone was interested in improving it.

This was what I had read about. There's a bunch of radio talk in the linked Twitter thread that I don't understand but you probably will. One immediately special thing I notice about your send, was zero coordination. You totally took me by surprise! I'm glad I happened to be scrolling aimlessly at that moment. I saw the incoming notification from Minibits but no Nostr notification so I had to check it out. The attached message was perfect! Does there need anything special about the radio for Hamstr to work or do you think would a cheaper handheld do? I'm aware ham has a longer learning curve, but it was something I was starting to investigate a few years ago, that I back burnered.

I like untype.app for writing. It's got some wonky unfinished stuff, since just kind of vibed it into existence on whim... but it always works, which has been my biggest battle with all the others I've tried.

Amethyst is a great app! I use it all the time. Its got a ton of features that interact with other Nostr stuff. You can do all sorts of crazy things with it. What kind of confusion are you having?

I don't think it could possibly be any easier to use but maybe easier to discover... as with most of the cool microapps.

After many attempts, I came to the conclusion that it is impossible to delete any list. Eventually, I'd like it if things like lists could be labeled as "archived" or something like that, so they aren't actively pulled. They could still exist for whatever reasons, but it would be nice to help users to keep their spaces clean.

That's good news! I'm glad they're starting narrow it down. Hopefully its something minor, but even things like stints and pacemakers are often outpatient procedures these days. Try to take it easy 🫂
