They have been sounding the alarms for a while, you're right. With Mythos 6 months ago and now Astra, things are definitely accelerating. One or two more leapfrogs and we'll have true AGI, IMO. Sometime next year. Which would continue to follow 2027 Problem short story nearly to the letter. It's wild to watch all of it play out, how the predictions are very accurate.

Unless you have the hardware for o use open models at home, the risk is the exact same as using your OpenClaw with any other cloud provider though. So this is nice for that reason.

An AI pretraining researcher resigned from Anthropic today, and his exit thread is interesting. His claim: the people building frontier AI genuinely believe it could kill us all by 2030 and they're racing to build it anyway. At Anthropic, everyone understands the stakes. Their answer to "why?" is: someone will do it, so it has to be us. When the risk is everyone's, the choice can't belong to a handful of companies who each believe they're the only responsible ones, which is exactly what every one of them believes.
