#nostr #bitcoin #turkey #relay

That actually makes a lot of sense. The zap side still feels a little mysterious to me too. 😄 And I think your second point is probably one of the most useful tips for new users. If you only follow the default flow, Nostr can feel like it is mostly about Bitcoin and crypto. But once you start searching for your own interests and following people around those topics, the network starts to feel much bigger. I’m still building my own feed that way.

What do you actually have to do to earn ZAPs on Nostr? Post better content? Be useful? Be funny? Take your shirt off? 😂 Joking aside, my first ZAP was genuinely special to me. It was 100 sats from @GG, and I think I’ll remember that first ZAP no matter how many I may receive in the future. The first one just hits differently. ⚡ Still trying to figure out the secret Nostr ZAP formula though. 😄 #nostr #zaps #bitcoin

One thing Nostr keeps teaching me is that there is no single “Nostr experience.” Change the client, change the relays, change the signer, and suddenly the same network feels completely different. Sometimes that is confusing. Sometimes that is exactly what makes it interesting. What part of Nostr took you the longest to really understand? #asknostr #nostr

I was actually wondering what happened and felt a little worried when Primal suddenly went offline. Glad to see it back. One strange thing on my side though: my following list seems to have been reset, and now I honestly don’t remember everyone I was following. 😄 Hope everything is stable again.

I agree with the trust point. That is what makes Bitcoin so different to me. The important part is not that it is digital, but that ownership and settlement do not depend on trusting an institution to honor a balance. The market odds are interesting too, although I would be careful about reading too much into one probability estimate. What matters more to me is that more people seem to be recognizing the difference between holding an asset yourself and simply holding a claim inside someone else’s system.

That is a very practical way to look at it. When a bank can delay your own money for days, permission suddenly stops feeling like an abstract idea. Bitcoin makes the difference much easier to understand because the network does not care who you are or why you are sending it. If the transaction is valid, it moves. That contrast says a lot.

August 30 check in ☀️ No heroic numbers from me today. Just keeping the streak alive, moving whenever I can, and trying not to spend the whole day glued to the computer. 😄 Small steps still count. Then it’s back to building, testing and debugging. ⚡

Most of the money we use every day is already just numbers in databases. Our bank balances are not piles of cash waiting somewhere with our names on them. If everyone tried to withdraw at the same time, there simply would not be enough physical currency. Money has already become mostly abstract. That is one of the reasons I find Bitcoin, hard assets and monetary systems so fascinating. What do you personally consider “real money”? #bitcoin #money #asknostr

I agree that physical assets matter too. What I find interesting is that even the fiat money we use every day is mostly just numbers on ledgers now. Bank balances vastly exceed the amount of physical notes and coins actually circulating. If everyone tried to withdraw their bank balances as cash at the same time, there simply would not be enough physical currency to do it. So in a strange way, even what we call “money” has already become largely abstract. That is one of the reasons I find hard assets, Bitcoin and the mechanics behind monetary systems so interesting.
