Every service out there unlocks tracking and snooping by default and some don't let you turn it off at all. Here's how we did it: 1. Email addresses remained in the same system as our user registration for Maple, not shared with new providers 2. Links in the newsletter do not contain click tracking. That means you can hover over the link and see the true URL it resolves to 3. No tracking pixel 4. Images in the newsletter load from our trymaple.ai domain 5. Unsubscribe is easy and encouraged. Austin North Floods Update - Helping Individuals Dozens of crews continue to search for missing persons amidst miles of debris. They've asked regular civilians to find alternative ways to help, so we're speaking with individual residents to determine their current needs. Many people have had their homes washed away, with some even finding random vehicles in their yards, upside down, and their homes badly damaged, with all their possessions gone. One such resident is Jane (name changed for this post), who has a unique story. She does wildlife animal rehabilitation on her property, caring for kittens, dogs, foxes, armadillos, skunks, raccoons, birds, opossums, owls, and bats. She takes in animals in need, nurses them back to health, and then reintroduces them to the wild. In 2024 alone, she and her partner rehabbed and released over 300 animals. When the sudden flash floods hit in the middle of the night, much of her rehab area and equipment was washed away, along with the chicken coop containing 30 hens, a barn, and 50 established pecan trees. You can read her story in her own words in the attached screenshot. All that is left is incredible devastation of mangled steel and tree remnants. There are weeks of cleanup needed at her location alone, but she emphasized that there's much more to be done first to help those who are missing and whose homes have been destroyed. Nevertheless, we provided her with essential tools to get the cleanup started, as her original tools were washed away with the sheds. These included a chainsaw, machete, crowbar, hand saws, and more. She wants to express her immense gratitude to everyone who sent Bitcoin to help with these tools, and I share her appreciation. Your contributions are being put to use in helping people whose lives have been turned upside down and are still trying to process everything. The process of search, recovery, cleanup, and rebuilding is ongoing. We spent $750 on this trip, with approximately $400 of it going here. All safe on Oahu. Got back to the residence after spending 6 hours hanging out on a hillside with 300 strangers. Met some really cool people and their pets. So much hospitality was extended from people we didn’t know and would never see again. 🤙

Update from the floods north of Austin. I stopped by the Round Mountain Baptist church this morning to help. They have dozens of firefighters performing Search and Recovery. They've asked untrained civilians to stay back from the search itself. While I was there, a young woman interrupted our conversation to report two new names of missing people. The names were added to the list and search efforts continued. 💔 Lots of supplies have been dropped off from clothing to water to food. They are overwhelmed with the response from the community and are kindly asking people to hold back for now. Also communicated a bit with @DocumentingATX on X who has been on the ground since this all started. He said supplies will be needed after Search and Recovery is done and we start to assess what residents really need. He's a great account to follow and support. Thanks to all the amazing Bitcoin friends around the world who have sent in funds, y'all are amazing! I've been both shocked but also not surprised by the outpouring of support. It's what Bitcoiners do! I've been talking with multiple groups to find the best ways to put the funds to use and am being told they will be needed here soon – to sit tight and stay ready.
